Meet Blake Beyer
In his nearly 20 years as a consultant, Blake Beyer has worked with metro Atlanta companies such as AT&T, Coca-Cola, Chik-fil-A, Fiserv and many others to accomplish their growth and transformational goals. Blake’s consulting company has been incorporated in Brookhaven since 2013, and his ATM business since 2018.
Our Platform
Survey our entire city on City Hall costs, layout, location, and mission. If our constituents ask for it, we pause construction and use their feedback to drive a re-examination of decisions made. Let’s make sure we are solving our City Hall problem efficiently, cost and space-wise.
Monthly simple explanation of the business of Brookhaven BEFORE each city council meeting, including what it means for residents, how I’m voting, and why. Allows for direct communication and increased awareness and participation.
Forensic audit of Brookhaven City books, allowing access to anyone. Understand the different buckets of money, where that money is going, and evaluate regarding a balanced budget with maximum transparency.
All new tax increases, regardless of whether it’s business or residential, should be voted on by the city, not by five individuals.
All major spending initiatives should be voted on, as was our park bond. This includes our new public safety building, the City Hall, and anything above a reasonable threshold set by the constituents.
Expedite FOIA requests, meet or exceed our SLA EVERY time, regardless of who is asking or how often. Staff up to meet our obligation, if needed.
Put term limits for City Council on the ballot, 2 terms maximum.
Audit our hiring practices to ensure we have a robust background check methodology to include a social media deep dive. Red flags, such as multiple short tenures or unexplained early terminations, should be investigated further.
Re-examination of the Annexation process to make it more transparent, fair, and understandable. No paying outside firms to collect signatures, as that creates conflicts of interest.
